Chicha is a fermented beverage mostly made in Cochabamba (Bolivian valley region). Due to the fact that the traditional chicha stove did not comply with adequate conditions, EnDev field technicians decided to create an improved model to produce the traditional beverage. Compared to the traditional one, the combustion chamber was reduced to half its size (efficiency in fuel consumption) and a removable ashtray was introduced. To prevent smoke intoxicating the person preparing the product, a chimney was introduced. This stove responds to people’s needs regarding productive uses in regions where there is a strong demand for them. It also serves as an additional income source for Energy Promoters (EPs).
