EnDev aims to support the full utilisation of photovoltaic systems as the most effective and economical solution to improve the quality of life in remote and un-electrified areas of the country.
Photovoltaic Lighting Systems
The offer includes support for the implementation of Peak Photovoltaic Systems (PVPS) and Photovoltaic Home Systems (PHS).
COVID-19 Response
The EnDev Bolivia project is currently implementing a series of health and education measures based on modern energy technologies in order to alleviate the effects of COVID-19 on the population.
Solar Pumps
Photovoltaic pump systems can be used to provide water in irrigation systems, drinking water in isolated communities, and drinking fountains for livestock.
Solar Refrigeration
As occurs with other solar appliances, these are mostly used by people living in areas that are not connected to the grid. Solar refrigerators provide a means of keeping food fresh and safe, without needing a connection to the electrical grid and they can be left running throughout the year.
Other uses include keeping medical supplies at appropriate temperatures in remote locations and storing hunting and fishing prey in tropical areas.
Solar Electric Fences
These are very useful for families or producers who do not have electricity in their homes or where the service is not constant. Solar fences allow saving costs and are an important alternative for the producer due to their multiple benefits.
Pico Photovoltaic Systems (Pico PV)
These are small flashlight-type equipment that can have additional built-in functions, i.e. to operate radios or charge cell phones. In some cases, they have other alternatives of modular interconnection between systems to provide more energy (greater luminosity).
These systems are intended for both domestic and productive uses since they allow carrying out complementary nocturnal activities due to their portability.
Solar Home Systems (SHS)
These are larger equipment than the Pico PV’s, but they maintain the same functions. They can be composed of a lithium battery that allows having several lighting points, charging a portable flashlight and operating television sets with 12V ports.
The SHS are stand-alone systems that offer a cost-effective way to supply electricity for lighting in a small home and, in recent years, have become a viable option for rural and isolated communities.
COVID-19 Response
In order to alleviate the effects of COVID-19 on the population, the EnDev Bolivia project is currently implementing a series of health and education measures based on modern energy technologies.
With a set of photovoltaic tools, EnDev aims to give children access to distance education radio programmes that are being developed with the support of the National Programme for Distance Literacy and Post-literacy, which is carried out through the National System of Radios of the Original Peoples.
